I think Gentleman is kind of a formal one being well dressed and driving a nice car speaks other foreign Lges, but man can be in a despised situation, I think we can't find a Gentleman in minnery , but the other YES in lower jobs !Poor them ! they didn't benefit from Time !

Re: give me the answer please
Hello Dear Bilinda,
You know that there are different styles and
different registers.....
Two real synonyms do not really exist (or at least they
are rare) and this is due to many reasons such as : dialects,
registers, restricted terms or even the loose meaning that
may exist between two words.
In the case of "man" and " gentleman", Here it is a question of
style and register. By "man" you can not mean more than
"male + adult" ;however, by "gentleman" you can mean
"male+adult+respected+etucated and so on..."
For example, a queen would never use the word man, she
would rather prefer gentleman unlike regular people.
That's why it is a question of styles and registers.
Hope this is what you need

Re: give me the answer please
My opinion is that a gentlman is the one who knows how to interact with others, generally he is well dressed ;respectful;he knows how to say things and specifically how to behave with women whereas the word man is so general in that any man can be a gentlman or can't be

Re: give me the answer please
well about man i think that man is explained himself bz all men are the same but the differances in their dealing with the other you may find the nice and the bad,the polite and the noisy etc...,but gentleman is a specific case bz ha has a lot of charasterestics that it hasn't in the other people like courage,honesty,worthy,..... this is my opinion

Re: give me the answer please
Hi mates,i think that man is a general term used to specify the gender of the human being, that is to say man not a woman,if it is written with capital letters ,Men,it means human beings in general;whereas gentleman is the one who is educated,respectful,gentle...........Thanks Bilinda.

Here Is A Definition Of A Gentleman By J.H.N. Ewman (The Idea Of A University)
" It is almost a definition of a gentleman to say he is one who never inflicts pain. This discription is both refined and accurate . The true gentleman's great concern is to make every one at their ease and at home. He has his eyes on all his company, he is tender towards the bashful, gentle towards the distant, and merciful towards the absurd, he can recollect to whom he is speaking, he guards against topics which many irritate, he is seldom prominent in conversation, and never wearisome. He makes light of favours while he does them, and seems to be receiving when he is confering. He never speaks of himself except when compelled, he has no ears for slander or gossip and interprets everything for the best "

Re: give me the answer please
A gentleman is someone who is chivalrous and respectful most of the time by opening doors for his lady and untucking her chair for her etc.
A man is just normal, doesn't go completely out of his way with the manners or chivalry. You can also refer to them as SUCKERS lol because sometimes they act rudely towards women !!
