Give to take!

I needed a birth certificate
So to get one I went
In a long line I did wait
More than two hours there I spent
Until, at 10 am, the officer arrived
After another hour, sipping his coffee, he started
working and, with his companions he talked
“Can you hurry up a bit, we have jobs waiting!”
A man said after a long time he felt boring
“Do you think I’m in here playing!”
Shrieked the officer after frowning

After an hour of working
Said the officer smiling:
“Time of lunch has arrived,
go and come back after the nap.
Or better to come back tomorrow!
Sorry for I have, now, to go!”

At last I got my papers and happily
I oriented to the meeting hastily
For I thought I was the fittest
For that job and the nearest

I entered the place of the meeting
Where a bunch of girls were waiting
Colourful, fancy dresses were wearing
Disdainfully at me they were smiling

I entered the office proudly
To get the job I neared eagerly.
The director checked my papers in a hurry
“Well, it seems the one you are,
and you will be our new star!”
I chuckled for I thought the job I got
Finally I will start, at last I arrived!
But he looked at me and asked:
“What can you add?
What will you give to take?!”
-“What does it mean your talk?!”
With malicious eyes, at me, he looked
“You have what I’m looking for,
I should, in advance, be paid,
otherwise, about this job don’t dream any more
I took my papers and, out of the room, I rushed
Now I understood what the girls meant!

In fact it is not a wisdom, Guermoud Hadiya, it is just few words from a mere fledgling writing lover! Wish I can live till I become 111 years old to do all what I am yearning for!
