Contest topics usually come easy, so that all the contenders may be able to comprehend the questions. It’s a contest not an exam, and this explains the fact that only the best pass. Now, I’m not one of the correctors fortunately but what I know is even punctuation is one of these criteria. Where you place your comma is taken into consideration for instance.
I don’t have any clue about other criteria, and insh’Allah when the results come out I will inform you.
