Are you watching Omar Ibn Al Khatab??

I was wondering if you're watching Omar Ibn Al khatab this Ramadan?? And what do you think of such adaptations? They chosed to represent him and that's very daring. Of course, we've seen worse (movies representing prophets). I just say that the point is those movies were not made by muslims and this one is.

So do you think it has got any benefit of any sort?? (kind of useful bi3a ??)
Will the next step be representing the prophet himself (PBUH) ??

( To be honest i'm watching but I'm kind of feeling guilty )

Each movie has an artistic value. I'm watching it bcz I simply adore the director Hatem Ali.

I'm loving it too (Too bad I missed the episode when Omar embraced islam I was watching the opening ceremony of the Olympics it's a shame

i think this serie is good thing! first, it's of a high quality... second, it's very efficient to send our messege to the western world abt Islam, and third, if u really looked for it, there is NOTHING agaist representing such sacret people in TV , not in the Quran nor in the Sunnah ...and where is the harmful things resulting from it? can someone tell me plz! till then m enjoying the show

ive heard and seen much of tht debate but m still nor really convinced... and if u'r waiting for a "general concent" from all "macheikh"... u'r gona wait long! it's enough for me tht some of the most prominent Islamic figures agreed on this production... so m watching the show and m enjoying it with a peace of mind ^^

I guess u mean the episode of the prophet Mohamed peace and blessing be upon Him died! It was a touchy episode indeed!
However, i guess the real focuse of the show is just getting started( which is Omar). so all the past episodes are something like a "prologue" I think! That's why till now, the serie of Yussuf Essidik still seems better produced to me

@Glourious: Yeah, I felt that the last episodes (since the Prophet (PBUH) died) don't have anything to do with Omar, don't you think?? It's all confusing these days

I like the show these days. It's all abt wars! and inmany occasions I thought the show is abt Khaled Inb Elwalid.

Yeah , it's all about wars and I guess that's why my brothers have started watching it just these days and me and mom are like

Nice question Sista, Media is one of
the great weapon either to destroy or to win but before thinking about this movie
just think for a moment is it fair for our Beloved prominent Islamic Figure depicted
to the world through an actor of these days!!!


Islam could be represented through
another artistic works for instance we can make Cartoons in so many foreign
languages…making religious films but not depicting Great personalities like
(Sa7aba and the prophets). If we want to represent Islam and Islam basics..etc.
we’d rather make movies built on the Islam principals and ethics of a simple
Muslim why we have to make a movie about prophets why?


As I remember one day I was at my
aunts home her son used to watch the (yussef alsadi9) movie, coincidently I
found myself watching that movie the story is clear and I read about it since I
was a child and repeated it many times coz stories of the prophets are the best
we’ve to read to exclude the learn from them. After watching some scenes from
it I took in my mind the picture of the actor who was selected for the (yussef
alsadi9) role. So from that time whenever I hear the name Yussaf alsadi9 or
reading about Yussef alsadi9 I recollect the picture of that actor directly!


Yussef alsadi9 who was a very beautiful can’t
be described with a words remembered by that actor of modern day!!!


This
is the same to “Omar Ibn Alkhatab” there are a planty of books just read to
remember. I know it’s easy to remember what we see and hear (70%) better than
what we read (30%) but this is not easy to take a decision and watch without
reasoning. Some people say “if it’s illegal it shouldn’t displayed in an Arabic
TV of Muslims” but the question which should be asked who is behind that TV?


Could
somebody tell me who are the prominent scholars who said that it’s normal to
watch Omar Ibn alkhatab movie?
