Simply, I'm looking for an easy way to understand the play of Hamlet( because now, I've no idea about it).
So I had an idea of watching Hamlet the movie. Do you think it would help me? I mean to have an accurate idea about the play.

Before you answer, take a look at this parts of the movie:
here , here also

(I hope you tell me that watching the movie is waaaay better than reading the whooooole play For those who dealt with HAMLET. 972218 )

i really don't know about the movie
but you can do everything if you really want to understand

first you can ask one of those students of 4th year to give you
the critic it may help you

and read the play you may find it borring at the begining because of words difficulty
but soon you will feel the contrary

read summary of the play you can find it in google

hi,
Take my advice..........read the play act by act and don't look to the critics till u read the play, the critics may not help you to understand the play unless u read it before, and i will provide you by useful book to make you nail Hamlet down

Welcom anytime messi, but i have to tell you that we never finished Hamlet and maybe either you will not,it's better read and reapeat the acts one by one in order to catch their meanings. sometimes you need focus on a single act. so, there is no need for hasty to finish Hamlet, what's important is to ponder and deep into its meanning .

That's still my opinion, and maybe others may disagree with me or have better way.

Actually HAMLET is the best piece of writing that i have ever read. you deal with it in theatre messi. my advise is like the one of big brother, try to read the first act carefully with its five scenes "alone" i mean without the use of critics "generally critics bounds your thinking and interpretations" then when you repeat it with the teacher in classe you will have the full picture. enjoy reading it messi. Good luck.

I advise messi to read...read...and... read the play before any other further step. When reading the play first then watch it or read critics, you'll shape it into your mind as Shakespeare wanted you to , as a movie maker and simple watcher.
