Hey guys! Since Sabine asked about the presentation of my viva I thought it would be better to share it and learn the steps.

Hello,
I like your presentation Sassy, well done! I was always thinking that the presentation made for a thesis defence should be more simple and if I can say "formal": A white background, no much colours and pictures. I am not speaking here about the animations (these are undoubtedly crucial), so how was the reaction of the examiners? I am sure they liked it

Hi Ezinma Thank you dear. I really wish you were there! The presentation in fact was the most appreciated and Mr Arab said that I catched everyone's attention coz it was well structured and catchy on a visual level and that I prefered to speak to the audience rather than reading or "speaking" words that sound like a text learned by heart as most students do. That was his comments.
In sum, I prefered to dare and take risks and do something that reflects my personality, that is very spontaneous and it paid well ! It was one of the best days in my life, very memorable one

Yes, I could imagine that reaction! Indeed the presentation is catchy. Surely that day will linger in your memory forever, and like a dear teacher told me once, whenever I feel low, I just remember this day and I instantly feel that I'm overcome with joy and filled with encouragement.

That was such a blessing to have you on that day! Guess what, I still have the sms you sent me the day before 
I may look obsessed with that day but believe me Sabine it's gonna be such a relief the night after the viva.
Don't worry about Chouiten, do not be intimidated. I know that your work is worth defending. The psychological aspect is so important. Put in your head that nobody knows your topic better than you, not even your supervisor. So YOU are the only person who can defend it the best. Say this to yourself "this is my show, it's my place. There's no reason to panic". If they see that you are soooooo confortable, they will be inconfortable.
It works. I play a lot on that even with my students.
But be careful, confortable doesn't mean careless.
Look at them with attention when they criticize and say "oh yes, you did notice that too? Great! It's good that you're saying that because it once came to my mind but then I thought..... blablabla"
If I remember any trick I'll tell you about it
