Re: Listening English lessons
Hi wonderland ! So nice to read you again my dear
I'm teaching oral skills too this semester, just tell me what level you're taking (because i'v tried something somehow advanced for my students but then they seemed not to follow me. So now i'm working on a good book, I'll post my lesson of this week, if you like it i'll post the entire book. Ok?

Re: Listening English lessons
Here is the lesson of this week (it's somehow easy, but the liked it as they learned other greeting expressions than merely saying 'hi', 'good morning', 'how are you' ....Etc)
The lesson (you have to print it for them otherwise they will not be able to understand the tracks)

What a pleasure it must be to teach advanced students! That's so challenging!
Here are the two books i recommend you (I worked with both at first, they were great but my students found the accent on the 1st book too hard for them)

Re: Listening English lessons
Hi again wonderland ! I thought you might like this Oprah show with President Obama and first lady. I used it last week both as listening and speaking lesson for my students and they said they liked it.
If you just plan a serie of questions and an interesting discussion about it, they will love it

Ohhhhhhh sweety !!!!!!!!! Just noticed your message ! You're so sweet and adorable !! Bless you doll
(I was preparing tomorrow's lesson and then you came to my mind. You know I run out of ideas Are you teaching anything original these days ? Any ideas ? Especially in listening. Have you tried it through dictation? Wouldn't they find it boring? What do you think?

Re: Listening English lessons
well, first i was working with a book named Read n understand, what i really liked about it that it provides you with pre-listening questions ( kind of warming up) wich are always connected to the target topics for instance then you are going to present sth about Benefits of travel, so the questions will be obviously about their travel experience hence, you start getting them prepared with the upcoming lesson, then they have listen to the tape recording/listening material, followed by comprehension questions , sometimes filling the gaps activities and at the end you have the written prodution.( most of times summary)
I have another one wich is named Speak Up, a really a helpful resource, the lesson that i tried n felt that they enjoyed the most was about an Indian scince which is called Aeoveda, this science for exampl tells you how people get influence by what they eat, for example those who like spicy food tend to be hot-temepred ....etc
At the end the students are asked to do a test in groups or pairs and see to which cateogry they belong.
I will mail you the book dear and see if they can be handy
