Hey guys! Did you start reading Aspire's The Book here https://blida-english.bbactif.com/t2225-the-book The Book by ASPIRE (reading group) 77156

Let's discuss it !!!!!!!!

Wow what can I say?! It's amazing and it's not really teaching me anything in fact about your style! Even your replies to other posts are so eloquent!

**I know your interest in French and it's constantly reflecting in your writing (very much the same with me).
From the start I liked this sentence which I would often use in French lol saying " j'aime à croire/ à penser..." LOVE IT!

I sometimes entertain the idea that little exists beyond what meets the eye.

**Genius reflections as this one

As a boy, I played chess and got fed up, especially after I realised that intelligence had nothing to do with it, and that girls doubted the macho of chess nerds. What is the point in beating your opponent on a zebra patterned board when he sweeps the ground with you in real fighting, and scores better than you in every subject.

.....No sooner had I blown or knocked or kicked most of that artillery than I discovered that I was a calm person who prizes a quiet idle moment over the masterpiece of the best composer in the world. Moreover, we were told in the mosque that music led to hell, and being
a pious boy, I ran away of those instruments with a great fright. ....... There was always one good reason or another that sent me out of each with the same energy and zeal that hurried me into another

The ideas are so well structured that from the moment I started reading I knew it would lead to that conclusion. I knew you intended to communicate the above state of mind.

**Then I was totally immersed in the sweet candid sensorial imagination of a child when you discribed the aristocratic ladies!

* and then this comparison ! (Linger the talk more about it!! Please

Like Emerson’s eye-ball, like a cube of sugar in a cup of hot tea, or may be like a man just out of Plato’s cave, I disentegrated in the maze of the blind man’s imagination.

**** Now I stop disturbing. I feel I need to go and read it again coz it's been a long time I haven't read something so vivid!. I totally ADORE your style!

Guys, I advise to read the story!

I totally agree Sassy, it's a masterpiece. Outstanding! I was reading it yesterday morning, I didn't think that I was going to finish reading because of the amount of the household chores awaiting. But then I really couldn't stop! I was saying to myself this is the kind of the stories I love to read, a story that makes me forget even my surroundings. Keep on Aspire.

You skillfully include a good deal of vivid details in your story which make it seem real. you're not just telling us what is happening in your story, you're rather showing us what's happening. Like any talented writer, I feel that you craft a dream inside my mind and stir my spirit. You're style is just amazing machaa allah. It will be another unforgettable piece of writing dear mate. Keep it up Aspire Smile

Well, well, well!!! that's much of a surprise for me. I never expected such encouragement! Thank you very very much!! I feel really quite happy with myself, and proud even!
Thanks to w-ch, to Sabine, to Ezinma, and special thanks to the queen of this forum Miss (or may be Mrs now)Sassy86 who opened this thread and all those who bothered to read.
Sabine, you remind me of the difference between telling and showing as stipulated by Wayne Booth in his The Rhetoric of Fiction.
Sassy, it's exactly what you have in mind, Emerson's essay "Nature", and the Allegory of the Cave by Plato. I really enjoy intellectual company.
w-ch, God bless you dear mate.

I still don't have a plan in mind about the end of the story, but I will do my best to keep it going. Yet, I still lookforward to reading all of you
