Hello Nass elkhir,
Among the studies that sparked my interest is the study of Facebook , where some of scientists conducted a study on the negative aspects of facebook, which many of us are unaware about them. So, I attracted to that subject so as to share and discuss it together.
Billions and billions of people are using this new technology of communication , wherever is their ages and genres. The statistics showed that the misuse of facebook leads to different psychological problems.
One of them is depression, espicially when the person sits hours and hours in front of PC searching for new friends, new subjects, new pictures or new videos. All that sticks to his mind unconsciously. So, he will find difficulty in sleeping and will make him uncomfortable, tired in the next day.
Another problem which has relation with girls. The scientists proved during the previous year that facebook causes jalousy to girls more than boys !!! since girls are easily effected , particularly Teenagers. They keep looking for more friends and collecting the most beautiful pictures in order to be admired by others. That is very serious problem which push the two genres to follow "lie's behaviour" and create things are completly away from reality. The worst matter is most of teenagers become applying their imaginable personnalities of facebook on their real life without any control from parents. Besides, the researchers have warned of the excessive use of facebook which make the one isolated from society . Since he becomes lazy and heavily moved , focusing on facebook news . Also, he finds difficulty to do his homeworks or duties towards himself and his family.
Facebook can be good or bad , is only up to us how to use it. Every one should know the right way in using facebook without hurting or to be hurted.

Re: FACEBOOK
Hey sweet Emily! I REALLY love the topic, thanks a lot for this suggestion! I AGREE with every single word you've said!
Well, there's a lot that can be said about this network. I do respect everyone's point of view and I see myself lucky hamdoulah for not being addicted to this web. I've had some weird experiences with it. I remember that I used to have some friends who were sooooooooooo addicted to it and they used to bother me with questions like these:
*Are you here?
*Did you see the updates on my profile page?
*Why do you always 'like' without commenting?!
*Have you seen such and such game on FB? Did you accept my invitation?
My GOODNESS! GET A LIFE !!!!I don't want to sound harsh but seriously, do you think that all people want to play or spend the whole day in front of their screen?!
Now I think it's kind of hard to get a clean facebook with "normal" friendships. Me and my husband have a common facebook, only family and closest friends on out list and Heavens! It feels good not to be bothered every now and then

Re: FACEBOOK
hi dear Emily! I would like to thank you first for suggesting such a topic to be discussed.
I do agree with you on the bad consequences of Facebook. Hamdoulah I'm not addicted to it but I know many people who are. I use it not to look for new friends because I do believe that many people use fake profiles (for instance, some people join facebook just for fun) I know some people who pretend to have a happy and perfect life (their profiles give you the impression that they are the happiest people) but they're, in reality, full of shit and suffer from mental illness. They use facebook to escape from the harsh real life and this sooooo dangerous. I have a friend who uses facebook excessively. I think that in few months she'll become unstuck from society. she's all the day posting, commenting and looking for new friends (virtual friends)
My facebook contains only people I KNOW (family, friends, classmates, ..) I think that it's better and safer.

Re: FACEBOOK
Salam everyone! Interesting topic, thank you!
As to me, I have no Facebook account, and i never felt the need to have one. Why on earth should I? to look modern and fashionable? to exchange views and news? to cultivate "friendships"? C'mon, give me a break!! I've been around in this life for nearly three decades, and u know what? i have only ONE real friend!! and yet people boast of hundreds of new "friends" in Facebook!!good Lord in Heaven!! What's wrong with people? I'm all for getting a real living, real relations in authentic contexts.
everything has become virtual!! you work so hard, and what they give you at the end of the month? printed paper (money, they call it!). do we eat paper or wear paper when we are hungry or naked? does that paper retain any value in case of economic crisis? they shud pay us in gold (real value) or in wheat (something we eat and which has a real function) so that we become independent from the world market and its fluctuations.
We post a few smiling faces on our walls and then pretend to have "friends" who love us and care for us. Strange enouph, they are all funny, handsome, witty, educated and blablabla (ugh!! it gives me the creeps).
We give all our intimate secrets and detail to anyone who cares (our photos, addresses, contacts, hobbies, etc), and then we are happy how "universal" we have become; meanwhile the CIA and all dirty organisations of the world gain free access to a myriad of very personal and critical information which constitutes a global database that helps in wars, commercials, indoctrination, blackmail, etc etc (it makes me shudder this time!!).
I don't know about you, but i prefer having a drink with a friend I know in flesh and having real sincere conversation with him or her to the monotonous everything-is-alright kind of exchange with larger than life "electronic" beings who pretend to be good friends.
dislcaimer: I mean no harm and i respect your views and opinions

Re: FACEBOOK
Hi mates,
you're welcome
I liked your comments and views about the topic .
* Sassy: I agree with you when you talked about addiction. It's a matter which we cann't deny. Also when you montioned the questoins they asked you... it's really bothering. As you said dear, it's hard when you find clean facebook without curious people.
**Sabine: you've mentioned an interesting point , since people hide their reality behind fake profiles which contain only unreal facts. It means when they disconnect their facebook , their life will be disconnected too !!!!!
I really astonished...how such people ( the addicted ones) can live their life in a normal way!!!
***aspire: I liked your excitement concerning the real fact we live. I do agree with you because the minority of people are still appriciating life's value. It's not easy at all to find sincere friends who you can depend on them in hard days. So , what do you think about facebook friends....pffff!!! they are just friends for spending time that's all.
There is an arabic proverb which say: "... you need a whole year to know a real friend".
you're welcome

Re: FACEBOOK
very interesting Emilyso thank you for sharing and I do agree with you all friends. We use facebook from time to time just to have fun but not to make it our life center. Concerning friends, I personally do not have a friend unless I know him because it is safer as you said sabine. Thanks again Emily for the post.
