Hi wimened. Well You can read about Spivak (in post colonial literary criticism) and her theory of the 'other' and the 'subaltern' in which she includes women who don't have a voice of their own in post colonial literature since they are silenced by both the colonizer and the colonized. I made a research paper few years ago about post colonial literary theory in which we included her amazing essay « Can the Subaltern Speak ? ». You should read it, it's a fine work. Look for Arundhati Roy an indian femal writer. Also, Kamila Shamsie, Buchi Emecheta, Michelle Cliff.

Hi! In addition to what Sassy advise you to read, I propose this article to read. It was presented in a Conference on Feminist and Feminine Literature in Biskra entitled " The Woman-Other Between Western Feminist Literature
and Postcolonial Literature" I think it may help you.
