Hi glorious . yes , the summer holidays are made to relax from the tiredness of a whole year . to relax from the suffring of awaking at 06.00 , and from the ridiculousNESS 3yit1 of friends bounce , anyway . I think the best way to forget , is to read novels . About horor , i advice you to read ( Tales Of Madness: Seven Horror Stories By Edgar Allan Poe ) .they are great .you can find them in the net . enjoy your time euh22

THANKS BRA FOR THE HELP. I LIKE TO KEEP MY SELF BUSY ALL THE TIME (EVEN IN SUMMER ) AND IT IS ALSO A PLEASURE TO READ STORIES.
AN ADVICE TO YOU:DON'T BE TOO LAZY TO OPEN A BOOK IN YOUR FREE TIME.
ANY WAY I'M GRATEFUL TO YOU.

Hello Glourious, tell us have you found the book? Smile
Yes for me summer holiday is an opportunity. Four months sleeping and resting is not a wise idea, at least for the one who intends to improve his level.
I'm not a fan of horror novels, or to be honest I haven't tried to read them yet. But if you like detective stories, try to read The Main by Trevanian. I liked it.
Enjoy your time

Hello my dear friend
I hope your are good and having a good time.

so...It hapend that you asked me this question on the day I read the last chapter of a great and a famous novel, which a liked very much.
I ,actually, changed my mind and chose not to read(or see!) any more horror.."things".( I'm having troubles at sleeping ,but don't tell anybody.. ok?)
instead ,I read a novel about this man who decided to leave his country and his family ,and just follow his dream and wander all over the world in some amazing places and great adventures.
( the novel actually gave me joy and great desire to finish reading it)
I bet you know what novel I'm talking about..
yes it's "OBINSON CRUSOE"by DANIEL DEFOE.

any way thanks for caring...and for your suggestion.
take care. king

Morning Glourious and everyone,

Well that's good news. So happy that you read this novel and happier because you enjoyed it. I have the book but I didn't want to read it Smile . Thanks you gave me an idea, you can read Foe by the South African writer J. M Coetzee and make a parallel . It's a counter-discourse to Defoe's tale. I mean Coetzee writes back trying to reveal the colonial attitudes loaded in the novel.
Hey Glourious don't tell anybody, I haven't read both novels What a Face
I think you're LMD student, you're used to write reviews of two books, you can choose Robinson Crusoer and Foe. It's a good idea.

Enjoy your time, and waiting to tell us about a new reading adventure

All I can say is that I liked the novel Foe so much, and you can read it in three hours since it's a short novel. If you want any help in comparing between the two novels we might be useful Smile Enjoy your reading

Foe: Coetzee

Hello,

Thanks Hush it's a good idea. I hope Glourious will be interested in doing the comparison. Here's a link where you can find Foe. It's not something of a good quality, it's just a messy version, not like a printed book but... it's better than nothing. ( The link is above I couldn't move it)

Hi, looking for interesting novels to read this summer? As one of the members has already suggested it's better to choose those that you may need in the next academic year. Reading mysteries, having fun and enjoying the language i may advise Agatha Christie(any of her books). I may also suggest Wuthering Hights(if not yet read), one of my favourite victorian novels by Emily Bronte. My last suggestion is a novel entitled The Alchemist by the Bresilian writer, Paulo Coelho. It's a fantastic story about a young man who follows his dream. For sure, you'll enjoy it. Enjoy your reading and your holidays as well
