What if Teachers were... Empty What if Teachers were...

Post by Guest Sun Apr 03, 2011 4:43 pm

This is a project risen by an ELT in Chlef at the High School he works in.
It consisted of maintaining a "cave" classroom he was working in with four
boy students (and 34 girl students...remaining of the class number) by
collecting money , painting , and decorating it in a way that motivates
the learners to study and work at an acceptable milieu.

I knew that you "cookie" wouldn't remark the main idea of this vid.
Are all teachers doing (in a way) like this teacher?
(I think he is called SAADI Redouane, as it is mentioned at the end of the vid).
Though not paid for that extra work , he was like a wizard.

The point I wanted to state here is :

Seriousness level in one's job.
(a thing so many teachers lack)

Is it clear, dear?

Yes, indeed.

I wish I were his student.

Why that?
From the video, I felt that he is so motivated in his job.

This video reminds of a good movie that I saw last year: "Coach Carter"
It really matters a lot to be motivated by your teacher because s/he is supposed to be a sort of a role model. It gives you a push to do better and it also gives you hope that one desperately needs these years. I love what he did with the class, very nice indeed.

I remembered my days of the primary school and even the middle school; we used to do something like that, not painting the classroom but sticking some nice pictures on the windows, covering all the tables with the same cover, and even decorating the roof with some colourful shapes.

The video is really amazing, what the four students did with their teacher was indeed motivating; there is a big difference between the classroom before and after, wish one day all our classrooms be like that. Imagine what all the students can do if just four could do that!

I watched it, Aristotle.
I was wondering where the similarity was until you have reminded me of.

Being teacher is being at the top of expectations. I don't mean hypocrit but ideal , although one can't reach that level. For instance, behaviour, expressions to use at different situations, language and other features. The trial to be ideal is the one that counts. That's why I chose the title of : What if teachers were like this teacher?

Thank you for the comment.

In fact, the feeling of motivation with the teacher is what pushed those High School students to do what you saw. They collected money (!!!) and maintained their classroom themselves. Who dares to do that? A few , of course. This means that there is still hope with the new generations if they are well-directed by us.....yes.....by us.

I can assure you one thing which is : I will meet that teacher one day as I am eager to see him. No matter is the cost to achieve that, as he didn't appear in the video. I want to reward him as I see it right.

Imagine if the ministry cared a little about this kind of teachers, what would they achieve?

I leave you to guess

yes indeed a good idea which creates a good atmosphere for the students but i still think that it is not a subject to discuss but a vedio to watch and to have an idea about some teachers that may inspire others to do like them
i think the seriouse subject must lead us to have diffrent openions
i am really sorry i don't mean to bother you or disrespect your openion but this my point of viewreally it is an ispired vedio thank you for sharing it with us dear

The best reward to a good teacher is obedient and collaborative students and vice versa.
Thank you mimi cici for the comment.

The idea looks very interesting as many of our teachers are less motivated to teach morals like these to their students. Thank you Hadiya for this video

The effect of a teacher should be on a longer terms in building minds not hands.
